I LOVE THIS! I’ll be sharing it with my 9-year-old daughter, who has a crazy-bizarre interest in the chupacabra.
Of course, I love that what “it” is to her changes depending on the day you ask: One day, it’s half lizard and half chicken; the next, half lizard, half chicken and half sheep (and yes, I get that doesn’t quite add up, but it does to her); the next, half sheep and half chicken…
Fun illustration. And I know a 9-year-old who will agree! 🙂
I remember growing up and being deathly afraid of this ‘mystic’ creature. I never got clarification if he thirsted for more blood than goats, so I just knew human would be his next target.
I like the series so far! But I can’t tell if you are doing these on a ‘puter or actually making hard copies (e.g. pen and watercolour) and then scanning them in? The simplistic colour scheme is nice and effective tho
Something about this just made me smile:) Thanks for sharing and congrats on being Freshly Pressed. Somehow you made a horrible demonic monster seem cuddly;)
*giggles* This is fantastic, thank you for sharing it with us! Gosh, I vividly remember my wonderful little Mexican students shuddering in horror at the very mention of the chupacabra – I wish I’d had this illustration to show them. 😉
What a crack up, great stuff! Congrats on the FP! I’m a sci-fi, horror, comedy, punk rock lover too! Love your dogs name! All our pets seem to end in a ‘Y’ haha we have, Molly, Sammy, Casey, Holly, Missy (short for Mississippi as that was what I had just learnt to spell when I got her – WAY OLD Cat now!!!). My fiancee and I were discussing children the other night and all the names he brought up ended in ‘Y’, I think there is an issue here hahaha naming kids after animals… new concept.
Have a great one!
Hey, I am a highschool art student. I love art so much. I had to start a blog for my graphic design class this year and I was wondering if you wanted to check it out. I don’t have much of my art on there, but there are a few pieces up. My site is http://www.trueouroboros.wordpress.com.
The Goat Sucker just has a bad PR agent. He’s really a swell guy. I had a fender-bender with him last week (totally my fault btw) and you know what he said? He said, “It’s ok, the roads are really wet. These things happen.” We both exchanged information and went our separate ways. What a stand-up guy.
Horror Sci – Fi and suspence – three things
I can’t live without – Ever think of starting a
single panel comic like the Far Side? Those
look like fun.
Oh, and if monsters are your thing, I disguss
many of them. From the kinder gentiler, Zombies
of traditional legend, to my small novel RUST,
where a hapless supply pilot, Amelia Jones,
struggles to wrest her past from the ghosts of
Sky Land, a decaying theme park with a
decommissioned air-base at its heart.
The thing is we have gotten so used to not seeing things like this we automatically think it is something evil, we dont want changes in this world so it can be misunderstood

I understand your daughter. I love when things have three halves. Makes life so much more interesting. And the chupacabra ROCKS MY WORLD. Thank you.
I love it! I haven’t seen a chupacabra depiction since the 90s and this is by far the best! I also believe the chupacabra is misunderstood.
LOL This was pretty funny — really reflects the clotted vampire culture that is running amok ^_^
Congrats on FP 🙂
I’m sure he’s just a misunderstood creature…. 🙂
nice…i bet he is.
So, is there a real-life inspiration for this particular guy? Lol
I remember growing up and being deathly afraid of this ‘mystic’ creature. I never got clarification if he thirsted for more blood than goats, so I just knew human would be his next target.
Funny
Awesome creature, looks friendly 🙂
Too funny.
This made me smile. I love the simplicity of it.
HAW HAW HAW! I love this Chupacabra drawing!
I actually like his smile. 😀
cute

He is very cool – and I’m sure he is nice!
This is adorable!
nice drawing
A nice guy with a fun and sweet personality!
Brilliant. For some reason I really like this 🙂
I have always loved the word Chupacabra – it rolls off the tongue so nicely. Nice illustrations, he looks like such a friendly chap. 🙂
Being half Puerto Rican, I find this hilarious!
Hey, for all we know, he JUST might be a nice guy after all!!
Something about this just made me smile:) Thanks for sharing and congrats on being Freshly Pressed. Somehow you made a horrible demonic monster seem cuddly;)
Nice.

Very interesting! 🙂
Long time since I didn´t hear about Chupacabra. Thank you for bringing back some weird memories.
This gave me a good laugh. I’m in PA too. If I ever need anything illustrated (beyond the capabilities of my 5 and 7 year olds), I know who to call!
I can totally see a story beginning here. Does a potential Missus Chupacabra happen by?
Love the illustrations.
Oh goodness! That is funny!
🙂
nice! thanks for sharing. keep it up.
Great illustration, but that’s what they all say!

Great stuff, I love the Tiger watercolor that you made! Keep it up!
What a great idea for a blog! Looking forward to more!
That would make a fantastic Halloween costume. Nice timing!
Hey, that’s pretty good. I’ve got an interesting idea for a character based on your creature and the Monster High franchise. Want to hear?
i want a Chupacabra for a pet! They real ly are misunderstood creatures…
jk I already have a dog and a chupacabra would probably eat her.
Haha, love it!!
What a riot…and to think we’ve been blaming him for all kinds of mischief…must have been his evil twin…thanks for giving me a good laugh!
I love this! haha
Pretty funny!
lol i guess i havent stayed in touch lately because all this chupacabra stuff is over my head.
feedback is appreciated:

Hahaha… chupacabras love XD ❤ !
Hey, if he’s so nuce he should leave all those goats alone…
(Great pic and congraulations on being Freshly Pressed!)
Any reference to Maurice Sendak in your work? This reminds me of my dreams of Where the Wild Things Are, but before the movie.
Got to know about it from Bones! Nice drawing, show it to Dr. Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan.
hhahaha so funny
WE may think he’s nice… but the goats may disagree. WHAT ABOUT THE GOATS?!?
lol nice
I know this is a lame response, but all I can say is…. Love it!
right, nice…
What is the Cupacabra drawing? Is he a real character? He looks like one from a book I would have loved as a kid…
That is one cool drawing of a chupacabra 🙂

I believe you, let’s be friends. ^_^
let’s follow each other
am I the only one who doesn’t know what a chupacabra is??? Is it related to the Cha-cha-cha- chia pets?

Cute.
I liked it.

I love it, especially since I have a little bit of an obsession with the Chupacabra that I got from my brother. 😀
